poe poe

mold turned out ok. a few air bubbles that mussed some details
but pretty good. let these dry a few days, a few coats of spray acrylic,
a couple of thin coats of wax, boom :resin/fiberglass layup time

pulling out his cold foam n foil heart

this half had the least under cuts and is fairly clean.
the finished clay poe

the arrow will stick out the back

paper flanges covered in wax to make a  2 part
mold. the clay original will be destroyed. yikes

he's about 6 inches tall as is

the plaster will be  thick enough to be sturdy
and not break when handling but not too thick so
it can't be easily destroyed to extract the fiberglass shell.
great care has to be taken to  make sure the  plaster is properly
sealed and has a release agent that isn't too thick to obscure details is applied
i'm only going a few fiberglass layers thick so it will be slightly flexible after
the 8 hours set up time. it will harden more over the following days. it needs to be thin
to read as cloth to scale for the diorama.
ok. so . i'm gonna make some legend of zelda dioramas
and sell them on ebay. like you do

this is a big Poe in the rough. i'll make a mold and make
a really thin fiberglass version of his floating ghostly cloth. the small hole
at the bottom is where the arrow from Link will pass through.i'll clean up the "shockwave"
wrinkles around the entry point.
