the cans form a tube and each can has several small holes drilled in the bottom. it's glued together with high-heat fireplace mortar. aluminum heats like crazy especially thin walled black spray painted cans. it has an exhaust in the window and an air inlet that draws air from inside the house. the cans heat in the sun, heat the contained air, the hot air rises out of the exhaust(heating the room) and draws the colder air out of the room. to be heated etc etc. on youtube i saw people attain 100+ degrees of heat from 15-20 minutes in the sun.
How does it work? Does it work well?
